Ms. Fatma AlMulla

Creative direction and owner, FMM fashion label

Fatma Al Mulla, a proud Emarati and talented creative artist with a background in Visual Communication from the American University of Sharjah, has always known that she wanted color, patterns and design to be part of her everyday life.

With a passion for art, design and photography, Fatma began her career showcasing her photography through various exhibitions across the UAE.

Her unique and inspired perspective of her Emirati culture led her to design the artwork for her very first product, a set of t-shirts, under the label FMM.

Launching in 2012, FMM began as a conceptual insight into Arab culture, reflected through tongue-in-cheek illustrations of cultural stereotypes and societal obsessions that won the hearts of the young, trend focused and vibrant audience of the UAE.

Proving her fashion design ability in addition to her graphic artistry, Fatma launched her debut clothing collection in 2012 featuring her most loved illustrations and introduced colorful patterns, including the launch of the iconic Dinhoud dress collection.

Since 2013 onwards, Fatma has been focused on creating wearable art and accessories collections. FMM began a movement towards cultural pride with the Niqab and Bisht iphone cases. A cult-like obsession of selfies followed!

Since then Fatma has been and remains one of the leading graphic and product designer in the region, and has collaborated with many regional and international companies.

Each item and artwork is designed by Fatma, on her desk, in her little studio, in sunny Dubai, with love.

In the male-dominated world of corporate CEOs, businessmen, and heads of business communities and associations, only a woman with exceptional creative power, wisdom, and an aptitude for process management could initiate a constructive dialogue between such parties. Only a woman’s touch could soften the sharp corners of the negotiating process. Only a woman's energy can, without intruding into the sometimes tough and uncompromising masculine style of negotiations, create the conditions for a structured dialogue that leads to concrete practical results.
